FEES & FUNDING GUIDE

Funding guide

Our care homes fees are payable by the individual, but you may be eligible for help depending on your circumstances.

You may be eligible to be council funded, where the council will pay the cost of the care home above what you can afford to pay. The council will split the bill, with a portion being sent to you to pay and the balance paid by the council. Normally you would be eligible for council funding if you have less than £27,250 in capital and assets and if your income is less than £689.73 per week. Any application will depend on other circumstances and should be discussed with your social worker.

If you are not council funded, you will be privately funded and you will be responsible for the full amount of any fees. However, many people are eligible to receive free personal and/or nursing care. Again this should be discussed with your social worker but free personal care amounts to £174 per week and free nursing care amounts to £79 per week. This would normally be paid directly to the care home.

Fees

The weekly cost for living in one of our rooms is £1,225. Our costs are dependent on the choice of room, but not the level of care – which is consistently high in all our homes. For example, significantly larger rooms and those with access to the garden or patio have higher rates.

*Figures correct as at April 2018. Please contact us and we will be able to discuss fees based on individual needs.

It is not unusual for private residents to move into a care home while they still have finances to sort out, often the sale of a property, and two council funded schemes exist to enable that to happen. These are the 12-week disregard scheme and interim or deferred funding.

Before taking up residency a written agreement will be signed stating the terms and conditions. Please contact the manager of any of our homes if you would like a copy or more details.

What our residents and their families say

  • Thank you for the loving care and kindness that mum received. We would especially like to thank everyone who cared for mum in the final weeks of her life, and the way that we were always made to feel included and never in the way.

    Elizabeth and Jane, daughters

  • We wanted to tell you what a great job the nurses and carers did for Gran.

Gran had her nails painted for the first time (at the age of 95!), and was delighted to show them to us. All the girls were brilliant with Gran, and the nurses we met were wonderful.

Our countless questions were answered in a way that showed they knew Gran well and gave us the facts in a considerate way that showed they cared. They were always there when it mattered, and couldn’t have done more for us. For that we will always be grateful.

    Granddaughter

  • From the outset the staff made my father feel very much at home. He enjoyed the evening music sessions, occasional trips out and other activities. Throughout the whole of his stay the staff were unfailingly patient, empathetic and responsive to his changing needs.

I think I can speak for all the family in saying that his last few years could not have been spent in a better place, and he could not have been better looked after.

I am more than happy to acknowledge the superlative levels of care which I and the rest of the family always observed at Randolph Hill, and which my father had the benefit of, at the time of his life when he most needed it.

    Son

  • Thank you for the amazing way you cared for my mum. You just couldn’t do enough for her, and it was so comforting to know that she was surrounded by such lovely people.

    Christine, daughter

  • Staff treated mum with care and patience way beyond what could be called routine. It would be wrong to name people - there were quite a few and probably others that we did not see! We appreciate the standard of care, they were a credit to you.
