Blenham House Festive Activities
Blenham House was full of activity over the Christmas period. We had our Christmas fair which included lots of interesting stalls including resident’s crafts, tasty home baking as well as a Tombola and Raffle. The fair was a great hit with all of our residents and their families and we look forward to next year!
The Christmas period was filled with lots of delicious food, cooked by our on-site chef. We all enjoyed a Christmas Day dinner with all the trimmings as well as a traditional steak pie on New Year’s Day, coupled with a glass of sherry for anyone who fancied a ‘wee tipple’.
January has also been an activity packed month at Blenham House. We were lucky enough to have a visit from Zoo Lab where a selection of animals came to see our residents, creepy ones, slithery one, 100 leg ones and everyone’s favourite, furry ones. There was a great selection of animals for our residents to hold and ask questions about and a few very brave residents who enjoyed holding the snakes!
On a less scary note, we had a visit from Pinocchio’s Nursery where a fantastic group of children came and sang songs, performed some dances and even showed some of our residents their new dance moves. The residents were also showing off their creative side by singing their own song to the nursery children. Everyone had a great afternoon and it was lovely to see the nursery children and residents sharing some of their hobbies.
The resident quarterly meeting was held which is always great insight for the staff at Blenham House to listen to some suggestions from the residents. The residents suggested games, coffee mornings and future bus trips which will be feedback taken on board by the staff.
As always, Blenham House is full of lots of games including board games, word quizzes and the new exciting game, a large foam jigsaw which is the current favourite with the residents!
