STV report Edinburgh Fringe Comedy at Randolph Hill Homes

Fringe acts are well used to performing at all sorts of venues during the festival – but not many have done so at a care home.

But that’s exactly what two stand-ups have been getting up to. Allowing residents to get their own taste of the festival spirit

Randolph Hill arranged a comedy performance, with some magic, by Jojo Sutherland and Carey Marx to entertain our residents as part of the Edinburgh Fringe.

Jojo Sutherland is a stand-up comedian, writer, actor and broadcaster who has been working within the entertainment industry for over 2 decades.  She performs in major comedy clubs and at comedy festivals worldwide and is currently the support act for Jonathan Pie on his UK sell out tour. Jojo is a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe and was British Comedian of the Year Finalist ’22

Carey Marx is a stand-up comedian. He has been performing regularly all over the UK comedy circuit for several years. He has had numerous television appearances including Comedy Cuts, BBC Breakfast and Loose Women and has gained international recognition through winning Best International Show at the New Zealand Comedy Festival (2009). He has also had several solo shows to appear at other comedy festivals including Leicester Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Each of our 7 homes were entertained between 2-3pm, to which all residents, relatives and staff were invited. There followed a party with  food and drink for all.

There was plenty of fun and laughter and fun and a feeling of being part of the Fringe experience.
